"Orphanage Outreach changed my perspective on life! It gave me the opportunity to immerse myself in a culture that lives for the moment and genuinely invests in each individual sharing in that moment! I'm so grateful for the opportunity I was given to be a part of the love they are spreading to the Dominican Republic! "

"My Orphanage Outreach trip was amazing! The boys at the orphanage, the volunteer, and Tom and Jane all make this program so wonderful. Knowing that I was able to make a difference to these children is so rewarding, yet I feel that I have learned so much more from them, than they learned from me. I couldn't have done anything that was more fun or rewarding with my spring break."
"It was an eye-opening experience that not only was a blast and worth my spring break, but I made a difference in the lives of those wonderful Dominican people."

Teach Corps - Education Majors

Education is at the heart of our program, so naturally Education majors/minors have an awesome opportunity to get involved, make a big impact, and gain a tremendous amount from their experience. We invite you to join us any time of year as there are always many ways in which you can make a difference:

English Education

Learning English is a highly sought after skill in the Dominican Republic as it opens doors to more opportunities. During the school year there are opportunities to work in local schools teaching English vocabulary. We also assist with teaching Spanish literacy, where the children appreciate the opportunity to read from books. During school breaks and during the summer, you'll be working to provide these same school children with fun and interactive learning camps, focusing on English and reading, but also including art, recreation, music, and health.

"Teaching long term here in Monte Cristi has definitely been a most rewarding experience for me. My time here has given me the confidence and experience I need to walk into and teach in any classroom."
Nina Jacob, Rutgers University

Summer Learning Camps

During the summer we provide summer learning camps to thousands of children in the community. These camps offer both educational and recreational activities for the children. We offer both a Christian focus and a non-Christian focus in the summer.

Our summer program is a great experience to share with a friend or a family member. We encourage you to invite your friends, classmates and family to join you! We have an unlimited number of kids to work with this summer; the only thing that limits us is the number of volunteers we have.
