Providing Opportunities...
Orphanage Outreach is a 501-C-3 non-profit organization providing opportunities to orphaned, abandoned, and disadvantaged children in the northwest area of the Dominican Republic. Founded in 1995, over 7000 volunteers have joined Orphanage Outreach for short term and long term volunteer opportunities. High school teams, college teams, church teams, individuals, and families join us for one week to two years.

Our initial and primary focus is on the orphanages we support, in Jaibon and Monte Cristi. But as our volunteer program has grown, we have begun working with many disadvantaged children in the communities around the orphanage. Each year, volunteers teach basic English and public health classes to over 5000 children in Dominican grade schools, provide summer learning camps to over 3000 children, teach a formal English curriculum to over 100 children in the Orphanage Outreach English Institute, and see over 2000 patients in Orphanage Outreach medical and dental clinics. Volunteering is the heart of Orphanage Outreach.
If volunteering is the heart of Orphanage Outreach, then financial donors are the lifeblood. Orphanage Outreach financial commitments include providing the basic necessities to two orphanages, funding four former orphanage children to attend the university in Santiago, and providing the English Institute. Additional funding is required for orphanage children special educational opportunities like cultural and vocational field trip, construction projects, and Project Green - an initiative to make the orphanages more self sufficient in electricity, water, and food production.
We invite you to become involved as a volunteer or donor to help make a big difference in our small corner of the world!
