    Orphanage Outreach purchased the Coconuts Hotel in central Monte Cristi to be the new home of the Orphanage Outreach Boys and Girls English Institute. There are four floors, each about 1500 square feet. Note: All photos by Tonya LaTorre.
  • First Floor
    The first floor had been used as the hotel dining room. Orphanage Outreach will use the space for open classrooms, using portable dividers. The first floor also has a full commercial kitchen, storage area, and office.
  • Second Floor
    The second floor had been used as a family apartment. We will use it for additional classrroom space.
  • Classroom Space
    The living room will be a classroom, as will the four bedrooms.
  • Library Space
    The apartment kitchen will probably become a library.
  • Balcony
    The second floor has a beautiful small balcony.
  • Third Floor
    The third floor consists of an open living area and five bedrooms. This floor will be reserved for long term program leader living.
  • Bedroom
    One of the third floor bedrooms. Each bedroom has it's own bath.
  • Fourth Floor
    The top floor is a beautiful open area with thatched roof. It was used by the hotel as a disco/bar; we plan to use it for special events like graduations, English bees, art exhibits, community meetings, and special dinners.

  • View of the Park
    The new city park is right across the street from the Institute. There are also beautiful views of the town and El Moro.
