English Camp - June 9-23, 2007

5th and 6th graders from Monte Cristi participated in an Orphanage Outreach English Institute English camp from June 9-23. It was a great opportunity for the children to practice the English they have been learning during the past year.

"It is one of the greatest experiences that I have ever had. You forget that you are an outsider and feel apart of the Orphanage Outreach family." Teona Hanson, Brynn Mawr High School

Sports Camp - June 23-30, 2007

The largest Orphanage Outreach summer volunteer team ever, 133 volunteers, provided a sports camp at seven different locations in the Dominican Republic. Teams from Graystone Church, GA, Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church, CA, and Bryn Mawr School in Baltimore were joined by a number of families and individual volunteers to provide camp to over 1000 children.

"This is a trip that everyone should experience at least once in his/her lifetime. There are no words to describe the people and this place. If everyone could experience this and be blessed with a portion of the Dominican Spirit, the world would be a much better place." Joshua Johnson, Graystone Church, GA

Vacation Bible Camp - July 14-21

Groups from Christ's Church of the Valley, AZ, Epping Bible Church, NH, Church of Love, PA, Mt. Pleasant Community Church, MI, and His House Christian Fellowship, MI, came together to provide vacation bible camps at four locations in the Dominican Republic. 450 children attended the VBS at the orphanage in Monte Cristi. In addition, the teams provided a VBS for the children at three "bateys", communities of banana and plantain farm workers.

"I came here to change kid's lives, and God changed me in the process. This trip was a tremendous example of how God does extraordinary things through ordinary people." Dennis Bloodworth, High School Pastor, Christ's Church of the Valley, AZ

VBS/Construction - July 21-28

A team from Christ's Church of the Valley, AZ, brought their puppet team to highlight the VBS held in the communities of Laguna Verde and Jaiquee. And Christ Lutheran Church of Charlotte provided funds and workers to continue the construction of the orphanage second floor. This was the final week of eight weeks of camp.

"Orphanage Outreach is a place where you can really see and feel the hand of God. Everyone needs to come and be part of this amazing organization. Cecilia Hernandez, Children's Pastor
