College ProgramsEach year hundreds of college students make a tremendous impact in the lives of many children! We invite all majors and minors to get involved."Working in Esperanza this spring was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Imagine a six year old with braided pigtails taking your hand and smiling at you as though you are the most important thing in her life. Imagine running in place as you play "Red light, green light" and teach colors to a class of laughing first graders. Imagine tucking the orphanage boys into bed, singing to them as they fall asleep. There are a million moments that I could describe to you from my week in the Dominican Republic, and I can promise you a million of your own if you work with Orphanage Outreach. You will fall in love with the children and you will never want to come home! There's no better way I could think of to spend a spring break!!!"

Health Corps ProfessionalsOrphanage Outreach is an American non-profit organization that has been working in the northwest part of the Dominican Republic since 1994. Over 8000 international volunteers have joined us since 1994, with the majority of focus being on education. Originally focused solely on the local orphanages, thanks to volunteer growth the focus has expanded to include additional needs in the community. One area of true need is health education and treatment."I was really surprised at the obvious poverty level of the surrounding community. There is no doubt that there is an enormous need to do all we can to help these people in whatever way we can. The hospitality extended to myself and my team was incredible, and the children were absolutely delightful! I would absolutely encourage anyone thinking of volunteering to do so. It is certainly rewarding and fills you with a great sense of accomplishment!"

Familiy VolunteeringAn Orphanage Outreach trip is a great experience to share with your family. We encourage families to join us any week of the year to make a big impact in the lives of many children."I was very pleased to being able to help in what ever was important to the O.O. mission. Ihope our team did enough. I was also very impressed with all the great volunteers and their attitudes."

Individual VolunteersEach year many volunteers travel with us solo. You don't need to have a team to make a big difference!"This is one of the best experiences that anyone could do for not only themselves but others also. When you take your spring break to help out others, you yourself are blessed just as much as they are. I came away with a much greater respect of what I have and a heart for Missions."
